"God wanted to make known among the Gentiles the glorious wealth of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Colossians 1:27).
During my childhood, Christmas held a special place in my heart. The allure of gifts, new clothes, fireworks, delectable food, and the spirit of celebration made it my favorite time of the year. However, as I matured, the initial thrill started to wane. I began to sense that Christmas had a meaning beyond the superficial aspects of songs, trees, lights, and gifts. In my quest to unravel the true essence of Christmas, I realized that it had become more commercialized than spiritualized, even within Christian circles. It struck me then and continues to do so now, that the authentic meaning of Christmas is often lost in the festivities.
Saints, Christmas is more than a mere jamboree; it is the revelation of Christ. And the revelation of Christ unlocks a lifestyle of celebration. Consider the consciousness that accompanies Christmas—a heightened awareness of bliss, expectation, life, victory, peace, joy, prosperity, laughter, increase, reconciliation, forgiveness, love, and all good things. This consciousness serves as a powerful antidote to thoughts of defeat, hopelessness, and misery, rendering them incapable of materializing in our lives.
Do you know that a life of bondage is incompatible with the life that celebrates Jesus? A life that celebrates Christ's victory is a bold declaration against sickness, lack, misery, and defeat. It's a divine proclamation of emancipation from the grasp of darkness. Therefore, if you are ever faced with a sickness or affliction, rise up and declare your independence! On the foundation of Christmas, proclaim, "I reject pain and lack in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ."
So, what is Christmas? Christmas is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27). It is your triumph over sin, hell, and death. Live it every day, being conscious of celebrations and Christ's presence in you.
God bless you! Merry Christmas!
