"So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light" (Luke 16:8).
Today's theme scripture tells us about how the sons of this world have demonstrated wisdom in the affairs of this life to the abashment of the children of God, and this ought not to be. Incidentally, when we ought to be trendsetters, we have had to play catch up.
The word, gospel which has been translated to mean good news, is an Old English word for "good spells" or "God-spells." In other words, something about the way of the believer entailed saying or casting God's spells. In a sense, each time you speak God's word, you are casting a God spell. And so, you can frame anything you want to experience in your life, career, family, and community with the word of God using the technique in today's devotion.
Hebrews 11:3 tells us, "By faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible." How do we understand that worlds can be framed? By faith. What is faith? Faith is first believing, then speaking, and then acting in alignment with the word of God. These three elements in the word of God must be present for whatever you desire to manifest by faith because faith is a law.
Today, our emphasis is on the speaking portion of faith more than the believing or acting parts. 2 Corinthians 4:13 says, "And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed and therefore I spoke," we also believe and therefore speak." In other words, when we believe something from the book, the next thing to do is cast it forth with words that personalize it to the situation.
For example, if one wanted to ace an interview and be the preferred candidate for a position, it was not enough to sow seeds or prepare rigorously or pray generically; one would also have to cast a God spell to secure that desire. In the case of this interview, you could turn to Daniel 6:3 (among other scriptures) and meditate on it for a while, and when I say meditate, you would open your Bible, look at that scripture with your physical eyes, and keep muttering it until it sits in your heart. Daniel 6:3 says, "Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm."
What meditating like this does is that it transports you in the realms of glory. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord."
After sufficient meditation, then you cast the God spell by personalizing and contextualizing Daniel 6:3. So if your name is Celia and you have an interview at Apple for a Program Director role, you would say, "Then this Celia distinguished herself above the other candidates because an excellent spirit is in her and the hiring echelon at Apple set her in the role of Program Director. In Jesus' name." And then, punctuate this in tongues.
The final thing Celia would do is attend the interview. It is no use casting a God spell without backing it with action. Use this three-step process in every aspect of your life and watch how results would overtake you.
Have a beautiful day!
Faith-Filled Confession
I have the spirit of faith. Therefore as I believe, I speak spiritual realities into being. I frame the world around me to suit God's agenda for me with the word, and I always have the desired results in Jesus' name. Amen.
