CALL THOSE THINGS THAT BE NOT

"As it is written: 'I have made you a father of many nations.' He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not." — Romans 4:17

One of the distinguishing characteristics of faith is that it speaks in agreement with God, even when circumstances suggest otherwise. Faith does not deny facts; it simply refuses to allow facts to have the final say. Faith gives the final word to God.

When God spoke to Abraham, He called him the father of many nations long before Isaac was born. At the time, Abraham had no child through whom the promise could be fulfilled. Yet God spoke of the promise as though it had already happened. Why? Because God "calls those things which do not exist as though they did."

Abraham learned to agree with God's Word. Instead of allowing his age, his circumstances, or Sarah's condition to determine his confession, he chose to believe what God had said. Eventually, what God had declared became his reality.

Child of God, there is a powerful lesson here. Too many people spend their lives talking about what they have, what they lack, and what they see. Faith speaks differently. Faith speaks what God has said.

When sickness tries to attack your body, declare God's healing.

When lack appears, declare God's provision.

When fear arises, declare God's peace.

When doors seem closed, declare God's favor and open opportunities.

Your words matter because they reveal what you believe. Every day, you have the opportunity to either magnify your circumstances or magnify God's promises.

This does not mean pretending problems do not exist. It means choosing to exalt God's Word above every challenge. It means aligning your speech with Heaven's perspective.

Begin to call forth the things God has promised. Speak life where there seems to be death. Speak victory where there appears to be defeat. Speak increase where there appears to be lack.

The God who called Abraham a father before he had a son is still working today. As you agree with His Word, you position yourself to see His Word manifested in your life.

Don't talk your problems. Talk God's promises.

Don't describe the mountain. Speak to the mountain.

Call those things that be not as though they were.

Faith-Filled Confession

I agree with God's Word concerning my life. I call forth health, peace, favor, increase, wisdom, and victory. I refuse to be moved by what I see, hear, or feel. God's promises are working in me and for me. I speak life over my family, my finances, my health, and my future. What God has spoken shall come to pass. In Jesus' name, Amen.
