BEYOND THE ORDINARY

04/05/2023

“He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.” (Mark 4:39)

The way of life that is consistent with salvation is the way of the Word. I remember an encounter I had with a dear brother who was bent on getting me to see how much problem he was in, but got frustrated, when I could not see him as being in a big problem. I could only see Him through the Word. I saw him in 1 John 4:4 which says,  “You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” The Bible says, “let God be true and every man a lair." So, I chose to stand on the side of the Word because that's the only way to live in victory. Yes, he was dealing with some serious issues which I did not dismiss, but the solution was more important than the problem. And if I could help him to see himself in the Word, I knew that he would manifest the Word.

There is no place for handouts in the kingdom of God. Scriptures tell us that we are kings and joint heirs with Christ. Therefore, in the Kingdom of God, there are no beggars. David had this revelation when he said, “GOD, my shepherd! I don't need a thing.” (Psalm 23:1 MSG). Paul said, “….Whether things present, or things to come; all are yours; and ye are Christ's; and Christ is God’s” (1 Corinthians 3:22-23). It is impossible to live in lack or to carry yourself as a victim when these words are embedded in your spirit. When you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that for you sake He became poor so that you may live in prosperity everyday, pity parties will become a thing of the past.

Jesus offers a great example of remaining unperturbed in challenging times. He could do this because He knew who He was and was confident of His authority over the world. And this is why  he remained calm when the sea became boisterous. The Bible says, “…He was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow.” Then the disciples cried out in fear and despair like many do today when faced with calamity. “...Master, carest thou not that we perish?” And in response,  “He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm” (Mark 4:39). By this time, the disciples feared exceedingly, and said one to another, what manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him? In other words, what kind of man is this? Little did they know that Jesus was not just a man; He was the GOD KIND. And so are you today. You are a God kind.

The God kind has the ability to disallow calamities by speaking forth the Word of God. As a God-kind, you are  loaded with the ability to calm storms. You have the authority, in the name of Jesus, to close the door of lack, confusion, sickness, and disappointments, and to open doors of favor, increase and prosperity. So, do not panic or cry out in fear when things appear to be contrary to what God has said.  Instead, examine your spirit and begin to release rhema! Speak in tongues and let your mouth be filled with thanksgiving.

You are blessed.

Faith-Filled Confession:

I declare that no weapon formed or fashioned against me or my family shall prosper. For greater is He that is in me than He that’s in the world. I have peace on every side and I receive God’s grace, mercy, love, and favor, in Jesus' name, Amen.
