BEWARE OF THE OLD PROPHET

"For I have been told by the word of the LORD, ‘You shall not eat bread nor drink water there, nor return by going the way you came.’ ” He said to him, “I too am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the LORD, saying, ‘Bring him back with you to your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.’ ” (He was lying to him.)" (1 Kings 13:17-18)

As we crossed over into 2023, many had watched out for the prophetic message for the year in different congregations as if to receive validation or more insight into the new year. Some others childishly moved to adopt the nicest-sounding prophetic tagline for the year (which is not the word for the year in the congregation to which they belong) as their personal word. Do not do it. 

You see, God's message to a particular group within the Body of Christ is so tailored because the mandate, grace and calling of each ministry are different. 1 Corinthians 15:41 says, "There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory." This is the same for ministries and if you belong to a particular ministry, it is only the prophetic mandate of that ministry that you are responsible to.

You cannot adopt a prophetic instruction to another ministry and expect the Lord to be back of it. That said, the prophetically-backed word to us by God is that this 2023 is our YEAR OF WONDER. 

"Here am I and the children whom the LORD has given me! We are for signs and wonders in Israel From the LORD of hosts, Who dwells in Mount Zion." (Isaiah 8:18)

Let this word settle in your heart until you have written a song about it. Let it settle in your heart until you are out on the crusade field working wonders. Let it settle in your heart until you are doing your job or business to the point people are in a state of awe. 

This year, the sovereign declaration of our God is that people will see you, your family, your business, your professionalism and everything that relates to you and say, "Wow". 

Don't negotiate this for any other prophecy. The word of God given by God's prophet over your life is the only one that works for you. Understand that "By a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, And by a prophet he was preserved" (Hosea 12:13).

Anyone who is not God's prophet over your life is a teacher and you can learn from him or her but God's prophet over your life is your father. And what does the Bible say? "For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel" (1 Corinthians 4:15).

If there is anything about the Lord, it is that He never author confusion. So, if He has given you a word, press into it until it delivers to you what it talks about.

Faith-Filled Confession

DAY 5 OF 21 DAYS OF FASTING AND PRAYER 

Ask the Lord to open the eyes of your understanding to His will and purpose for 2023. Pray that God will turn every worldly and fleshly wisdom masquerading as God’s wisdom in your life into foolishness and futile. Pray that God will cause the revelation of His Word to be at unspeakable levels in your life this year; causing you to live in the fullness of Christ victorious work. Also, ask the Lord to use you to bring glory to His name. In addition, pray God’s mercy and favor on those that may be in disagreement (people that you don’t get along with easily) with you. Acts 19:20, Romans 15:29, Ephesians 1:16-21, Matthew 5:44
