BENEFITS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS-PART 2

06/22/2024

“Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever” (Psalm 112:6 NIV).

Believers in Christ were configured with the righteousness of God when they first believed. This righteousness is not something you aspire to or try to work up. It is who you are. For the purpose of defining, righteousness is an inherent part of the nature of God that makes God accurate in His pronouncements every time. Righteousness is what guarantees that God’s Word is His bond and that He is incapable of lying. Hebrews 6:17-18 says, “Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.”

This righteousness in us is our ability to not live a lie. And here’s what I mean. When a Christian lives in sin, fails, becomes sick, or can’t pay bills, that believer is living a lie. The problem here is that he or she is more sin-conscious than righteousness-conscious. The sin-conscious Christian is the one the Bible describes as carnally minded; while the righteousness-conscious Christian is spiritually-minded. Romans 8:6 says, “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

All death, defeat, and failure in the life of a Christian is brought on by being carnally minded. To the carnally-minded, the things of this earthly existence mean more than the things of God. This is why the carnal mind can be the most dangerous thing for a Christian to have.

That said, we mentioned two benefits of righteousness in a previous devotional as dynastic wealth and influence. The other benefit is indestructibility. The righteousness-conscious Christian is indestructible. Psalm 112:6 says,

“Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever.” It means the righteous cannot be upended, upstaged, moved, or confused by any outside force.

Prophet Isaiah puts it this way: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD” (Isaiah 54:17)

The reason why the Christian who is conscious of his or her God-bestowed righteousness is indestructible is because in the spirit realm their confessions line up accurately with the sovereign mandate of Almighty God. Nothing and no one can cast judgment on the righteousness of God.

Declare it with me, until it registers deep down: “I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. There is no error in me.”

Have a great day!

Faith-Filled Confession

I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. There is no error in me. My thoughts, words, decisions and actions align completely with the Lord Jesus because I was born that way. Therefore, no weapon or accusation is potent against me. I laugh at the conspiracies of the wicked because all their efforts are in vain.
