“Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, Whodelights greatly in His commandments” (Psalm 112:1).
When a person gets born again, righteousness, the ability to live right, comes with the newness of the life of God. Now, a Christian may choose not to live right for reasons of ignorance or pride but within his or her being, the ability to live right before God is a default setting.
That said, if you decide to live according to your default setting, then there are setting benefits that ought to accrue to you. One of the benefits of living based on your righteous nature is that your children will be extremely influential in the land. “His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed” (Psalm 112:2).
Next, the born again person, who lives righteous, positions his or her household for dynastic wealth. And even when economic disasters occur, these are shielded from the effects. Psalms 112:3-4 says, “Wealth and riches will be in his house, And his righteousness endures forever. Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.”
Now, you may be wondering what it means to live righteous. The Bible tells us in many ways. It is to be flawless in thought, speech, and deeds. Psalm 112: 5 says, “A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion.” In other words, the righteous are excellent at everything." Hallelujah!
Now, someone might be saying, “…but no one is excellent at everything.” The Bible says you can be excellent at everything. That’s why Jesus came. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
This everlasting life is retrofitted with righteousness, such that if you decide to live righteous, you will never make another mistake in anything you are involved with. This is the gospel of the kingdom that we preach. That there should be no sins, errors, or missteps in your life.
So how do you activate the righteousness of God in you? You activate it by becoming conscious of it through your confessions. Philemon 1:6 Douay-Rheims says, "That the communication of thy faith may be made evident in the acknowledgment of every good work, that is in you in Christ Jesus." As you declare that the righteousness of God is at work on you, it becomes instantly available to function.
Understand that righteousness is a fruit of your salvation and your confession is the power button for enjoying the fruits of salvation. Romans 10:10 says, "For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Now, for the purpose of practice, declare that the righteousness of God is at work in you, seven times, and then begin speaking in other tongues in praise to God.
Have an excellent day.
Faith-Filled Confession
The righteousness of God is at work in me. Therefore, I think, talk, and act excellently. There are no errors in my course and conduct. I make excellent decisions throughout the day such that the perfection of the Lord Jesus is evident, drawing people to desire and follow Him as their Lord. Hallelujah
