BEHOLDING THE POWER AND THE GLORY

"For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren" (Romans 8:29).
Before you ever were born, God foreknew you, and He did something about that foreknowledge. The Bible says He predestined you to be conformed to the image of His Son. We know from the Bible that the image of His Son is characterized by two things: glory and power.
John 1:14 says about the glory of the Son of God that "… the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." Glory here refers to an atmosphere of triumph or, in today's lingo, good vibes. The good vibes that Jesus gave off to the world around Him were full of grace( divine ability) and truth (meaning, what He said always came to pass). This is the first quality we potentially have from God's predestination of us.
The second thing, the power, is described in Romans 1:4, which says that Jesus was "…declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead." In other words, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is the power by which His Sonship of God was established.
But then, maybe you are wondering what all this means. It means that the manifestation of this glory and power are your present-moment destiny. And the question is: When are you going to fulfill it?
I share a parable here: If Peter had looked at Jesus long enough when the Master walked on the sea and not looked away, he would have become what he was looking at (see Matthew 14:22-33). 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, "But we all, with unveiled faces, looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit."
Manifesting the glory and the power of the Son of God is your present hour calling and the pressing need of the world today (see Romans 8:19). But if you are going to do it in this life, you will have to behold the Son of God without the veils of the law, life's challenges, social media and other blinders that are inherent to living on earth. You are going to take the scriptures, sometimes one verse at a time, and just maul over it for days. If you look long enough, you are guaranteed to become what you behold from the Word.
Have a great day!
