BEHOLD YOUR DIVINE ANCESTRY

"Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer" (2 Corinthians 5:16).

Jesus never said He was from Nazareth, or Bethlehem, or any other earthly location. He never claimed to be the descendant of King David because if He had said so, He would have been lying. What did He say? "And He said to them, “You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” (John 8:23-24). This portion of scripture tells us a lot about self-identity and ancestry.

Understand that when you claim an earthly ancestry, even though you are now born-again, you bring yourself under the authority of territorial spirits and the binding terms of covenants established by these territorial spirits with the ancestors of that location. So maybe someone asks you where you are from, and you say, "I am from Dayton or Abuja or any other location on earth," spirits who are party to this casual conversation, whom you cannot see, can easily track you and connect you to the ancestral spirit of that earthly location or family with whom you identify. 

However, if you are born again, your ancestry is divine. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). Every covenant, life pattern, retrogressive dream, and claim of your earthly ancestry over your life is passed away because, in the mind of justice, the day you became born of God, your humanity with all of its associated terms and conditions perished. 

Claiming an earthly nativity or affinity after you have been reborn in Zion is living in the flesh, and to do this is to court death, failure, and active ancestral covenants. Romans 8:13 says, "For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live." Understand that in the realm of the spirit, you cannot be careless about the words you speak. So, claim your divine ancestry. 

The diabetes, cancer, low-income housing, and other afflictions that were designated for earthly lineages lose their claim now as many reaffirm that God is their ancestor. Colossians 3:3 says, "For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God." 

For administrative purposes, your passport may carry a location just as Jesus was linked to Nazareth, but never again subscribe with your mouth to that place. You are from above and your origin is God.

Faith-Filled Confession

I subscribe to God as my only ancestor. I am from above. Therefore, divinity defines my experiences here on earth. My Father succours, shields and orients me by His Spirit and His Word. I am far removed from all covenants binding upon any earthly affinity or origin because I am begotten of God. Hallelujah!

Prayer Points

• Pray that every God-ordained plan will go forward and be completed without any hindrance or interference from satanic or outside forces.

• Pray for those facing challenges in their faith and for those whom Satan is stirring off the course of their calling in Christ through various temptations and trials. Pray that their faith fails not and that they are strengthened by the Spirit in their inner man, triumphing by the Word sown in their hearts, and prevailing in all circumstances. Declare that they hold fast to their calling, living in and by the Word, irrespective of circumstances, that they may finish their course with joy, bringing glory to the Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
