BE THE WORD

10/13/2023

"But we all, with unveiled faces, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2 Corinthians 3:18)

The Word of God to the Christian is a different kind of Word. It is not a word to be obeyed like the Word God gave to the Jews, and it is not a message of alienation that severs the Gentiles. It is a Word to behold. In other words, you are the Word of God in the current moment, and what you behold, particularly between Romans 1 and Jude 25, is you. 2 Corinthians 3:2-3 is very poignant about this. It says, "You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart."

But Pastor, does this mean the rest of the Bible doesn't apply to me? It does, but not in the way that many have approached it. Romans 15:4 says, "For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope." In other words, the Old Testament and the Gospels were written for our learning, but the Epistles were written to us to behold and become.

In other words, irrespective of what anyone may describe you by, your duty is to look at yourself in the Word and be what you see. For example, Phillippians 4:6 says, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God..." This is not an instruction; it's your reflection. If you still get anxious from time to time, you have not looked enough. James 1:25 NIV says, "But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do."

Brothers and sisters, the Word of God to you is ample. Look at it with your spiritual, mental, and physical eyes through meditation and become what you see.

You should not be the same person whenever you are encountered because you are in constant transformation by the mirror principle of the Word. Hallelujah!

Faith-Filled Confession

I behold the glory of God in the mirror of the Word. And I become what I see. In Jesus' name. Amen
