BE THE DIFFERENCE

11/11/2023

"Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires" (James 1:20).

Recently, my neighbor inquired about the whereabouts of the United States, suggesting that the country he once knew had changed. This sentiment is not unique, as I have encountered similar expressions multiple times. However, amid current events, immersing ourselves in the Word is crucial. The prevailing levels of anger, bitterness, and hatred, particularly with the ongoing Israel-Hamas crisis, are unprecedented. I even heard of a family member acquiring a firearm. As followers of Jesus Christ, it's essential to elevate ourselves above the turmoil through the Holy Ghost. Otherwise, we risk being engulfed in fear, anger, bitterness, and anxiety.

In the midst of all the challenges, you must recognize your role. The Bible says in Job 22:29, "When others are discouraged, perplexed, marginalized, you will say, 'Cheer up!'" Your role isn't to be consumed by the chaos prevalent in today's world. Instead, God has anointed you to lift others out of the realms of anger, bitterness, and hatred. My question to you today is this: Will you be the man or woman anointed by God for such a time as this, or will you allow the prevailing anger to drain your faith? I encourage you, brethren, to be a source of light and hope to others. The pain of injustice is undeniable; I understand. But the healing you can bring to those around you is more real.

God desires to see you take a stance that hinders the enemy's influence in your environment—a position marked by love, wisdom, and peace. Rather than reacting with anger, as many in the world do today, choose to align with the principles of God's Word. Embrace kindness, love, peace, wisdom, and prayer. As Jesus admonished in Luke 6:27-28, "Love your enemies, do good to them who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who despitefully use you."

It is crucial to remind ourselves, amidst the current events, that we are not of this world. Our purpose is to bring hope and healing to the nations. Be vigilant not to allow frustration, anger, and bitterness to take root, as these can stifle the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon you. Stay in the light of God's Word, allowing Him to use you as a conduit for healing to those around you.

Therefore, I encourage you to remain in the illumination of God's Word and allow Him to work through you to bring healing to those around you.

God bless you!

Faith-Filled Confession:

I am not of this world. I choose peace over anger. I choose grace over frustration. I choose love over bitterness. No matter what the world may throw at me, I choose life. I choose the wisdom of the Word of God. Praise God!
