"As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God" (Psalm 42:1).
You cannot claim to serve God and not be a soul winner. In other words, your relationship with God should be called into question if you are not actively involved in soul winning. How can you claim to serve a God whose number one goal is to save the lost and not be actively involved? Jesus put it this way in Matthew 12:30: "Anyone who isn't with Me opposes Me, and anyone who isn't working with Me is actually working against Me." Just in case you don't know this, all that God does is for one purpose only: soul winning. Therefore, you shouldn't tolerate any form of lukewarmness in your walk with God. You cannot serve God and serve the world at the same time. In the words of Jesus: "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon" (Matthew 6:24). And when it comes to serving God, it's about soul winning.
So, don't be deceived by those who suggest that soul winning is only for a few. As a matter of fact, you should be wary of any Christian that has made the decision to exempt himself or herself from local or world evangelism. If you truly love God, then you ought to live a life that communicates the gospel of Jesus. You should be His mouth and feet in your world. Friends, colleagues, and family members shouldn't be asking what Jesus looks like when you are present. People in your world should not just stop with, "Oh, he goes to church" or "she is a member of that church." Loving Jesus must transcend membership or association with a church group; it must be about soul winning. Most people in your sphere of influence should have heard the gospel from your mouth already.
Hear me, saint; true love for Jesus is revealed in your involvement in evangelism, especially in evangelizing your sphere of influence. And if we are going to this, it has to be with reckless abandonment to the Holy Ghost. Matthew 10:38-39 MSG says this: "If you don't go all the way with me, through thick and thin, you don't deserve Me. If your first concern is to look after yourself, you'll never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look to Me, you'll find both yourself and Me." This means that there is no room for lukewarmness, and the focus must be not on you but Christ Jesus.
God desires your whole heart. Jesus said the most important commandment is to "love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength" (Mark 12:30). In other words, love and serve God with your whole being, not half-heartedly or haphazardly. In Revelation 3:15-16, God said to the church in Laodecia, "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth." God wants you to be on fire for Him when it comes to soul winning. Go all the way! Burn for God! Don't hold back; let your service be with passion; be free to be all that He has called you to be. Be a soul winner for God. Refuse to be intimidated by those that aren't winning others to Jesus. Proverbs 11:30 says that soul winning is an indication that one is wise.
If you love Jesus, and I believe you do, then demonstrate your love by winning others to Christ.
God bless you!
Faith-Filled Confession:
I choose to be a soul-winner. My passion for evangelism is revived. I will be diligent in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ to those around me. And as I do, lives will be saved and transformed in Jesus' name, Amen.
Prayer Points
Declare that our brethren are guided by the wisdom of God in their associations, jobs, business ventures and partnerships. They are constantly led by the Spirit of God and guided away from error and poor/bad decisions that may incur losses or negative effects on them.( Isa 30:21; Isa 58:11, 1 Cor 1:30)
Pray for our brethren, that more than ever, they will stay focused on Christ and the things of the Kingdom, and they will not be distracted by the transient pleasures of this world.
Pray for our brethren, that an indescribable hunger for souls is stirred in them continually causing them to preach the word everywhere with boldness, resulting to the salvation of more souls and that the Word of the Lord may increase and bear more fruits in them (Acts 4:29-31)
