BE MINDFUL OF THE HEAVEN IN YOU

4/28/2025

"Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation" (1 Peter 2:12).

The way you conduct yourself before members of your household and others on the outside matters to God. However, God is particularly concerned about how you conduct yourself before those who do not know Him. I am talking about that fellow at the grocery store who you likely will never meet again. You may think, "nobody knows me here," but you will be naive to think that way because Jesus has positioned you in such a way that you are known to all. The price He paid for you is apparent, and so, your conduct reflects on Him. When you speak with a harsh tone, it reflects on God. Psalm 23:3 says, "He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake." In other words, God is obligated to leading, directing, and guiding you because His name is on the line. Whenever you fail to live up to your divine nature, it reflects on the blood that was shared. 1 Corinthians 6:20 says, "You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."

It's sad when I hear Christians make assertions that their life is theirs and so they can do whatever they want with it. Any Christian who has this mindset is in error and is heading to a dangerous place. The Bible says in Colossians 3:4, "When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory." So, child of God, you can no longer do as you please. Your actions and words carry so much weight in the realm of the spirit. So, you cannot just jump on any bandwagon because others are doing so.

You are different. Jesus said, "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:14-16). So, the days of conducting yourself in a manner that reflects poorly on God are long gone. People may say nothing, but it reflects on God's character in you. Apostle Peter said, "Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation" (1 Peter 2:12).

I believe God is calling you to live an excellent life before all men, no matter where you find yourself. It will not happen by human strength; it will only be possible when you yield to His grace.

You are blessed!

Faith-Filled Confession:

Christ is magnified in me. I radiate His glory everywhere that I go. The flesh and its desires are crucified. I put my body under subjection daily that Christ may be seen in me and through me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
