ALLOW IT TO DWELL IN YOU RICHLY

02/24/2023

"Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord" (Colossians 3:16).

God wants us to be full of His Word at all times. And this does not just happen because we are born again; it requires consistent meditation and confession of His Word. A Christian who has allowed God's Word to dwell in them richly is not caught off guard by Satan's attacks. In the midst of what looks like trials and challenges, they grow and blossom. On the other hand, a starved or malnourished Christian is a sad sight to behold. They may be physically fit and elegantly dressed, but in the spirit, they are malnourished and unable to withstand the slightest attack of the enemy. Among such Christians, you will find anger, unforgiveness, contention, bitterness, and self-seeking.  Child of God, when you catch yourself exhibiting the works of the flesh (Read Galatians 5:19-21), check your spirit to gauge how much of God's Word is in you. That you read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation five years ago does not suffice for your daily walk and will not keep the Word in you in a rich measure.

Having God's Word in you in a rich fashion is determined by your daily walk--how much of the Word you feed on and meditate upon daily. Your  Sunday meals, while important, will not keep you fully prepared to counter the attacks of the enemy and the temptations of the flesh. Jesus said in Matthew 4:4, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." And the way to eat the Word is by speaking it forth from the spirit.  God said to Joshua, "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful" (Joshua 1:8). In other words, feed on the Word ALWAYS and SPEAK it always.

Genesis 8:22 says, "While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest…shall not cease." Seedtime could represent feeding on the Word, while harvest represents the results that come from our seed. In other words, when you feed on the Word, you establish a harvest. Now, you see why you must study the Word wholeheartedly. When you study and listen to the Word, you seed your spirit with supernatural abilities. So when you speak, you are speaking that which is in your spirit--supernatural abilities. Hallelujah! This is what John, the Apostle, referred to when he said, "this is the victory that overcomes the world even our faith" (1 John 5:4). It is the way to keep the glow and stay radiant irrespective of what is going on around you.

You are blessed.

Faith-Filled Confession:

I keep God's Word always in sight. I refuse to let it depart from my mouth; it is in the midst of my heart. The Word ministers life to my spirit, mind, and body. Today, I declare that I am healthy, my mind is sound, the joy of the Lord is my strength, and my youth is renewed in Jesus' name. Amen
