A NEW KIND OF LIFE

01/10/2024

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life" (John 6:47),

If you believe in the Lordship of Jesus, His death, burial, resurrection, and current seat at the Father's right hand, then, by virtue of this belief, you have possession of a life exclusive to Papa God. The emphasis of today's theme scripture is one of mathematical accuracy.

Jesus says with absolute certainty that anyone who believes in Him already possesses everlasting life. The root Greek word for the adjective, translated as "everlasting," is the word "Zoe," which refers to a quality that is inherently divine in nature. In other words, those who believe in Jesus not only possess but are also possessed by divinity. The very nature that defines God is the nature that defines you. Hallelujah!

Though many in the Church have yet to accept this reality, the Lord would have us focus on this truth over the course of the year. The Apostle John the Beloved, writing to you, says, "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God." (1 John 5:13)

The operative phrase in 1 John 5:13, "that you may know that you have eternal life..." implies that the awareness of your possession of eternal life isn't immediately evident. It's not a superficial knowledge but one that requires a profound engagement with the Word of God through prayer, Bible study, meditation, and affirmation to fully grasp this truth. Outwardly, individuals with "zoe" (the God-life) may appear indistinguishable from those without "zoe," making it challenging to discern who possesses this divine life.

However, the difference is only distinguishable as we use the Word to measure the possibilities of those who possess the God-Kind of Life from those with mere human life. For starters, the God-Kind of Life is incapable of sickness if its possessors approach it with discernment. This is what is implied in Isaiah 33:24 BSB when it says, "And no resident of Zion will say, "I am sick." The people who dwell there will be forgiven of iniquity.

If you believe in Jesus, the principle according to Hebrews 12:22 is that you reside simultaneously in Zion as much as you may live in Dayton, Abuja, or wherever--and are not capable of sickness because you possess the God-life.

But what about the symptoms, the back pain and discomfort that I feel, Pastor? These are not real, child of God. If you feelthem, it is because you have sustained them with your confessions. As you embark on the journey of understanding and embracing your divine nature in the coming months, these feelings will dematerialize. The same transformative process will occur in other areas where struggles may have been experienced, whether it pertains to your finances or a defiant habit that requires termination.

Begin to reckon that you have the God-life, and because of this, you know no defeat.

God bless you!

Faith-Filled Confession

I possess the life of God within me because of my belief in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Consequently, I reject any contradictions to the will of God in my body, finances, and overall life experience. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Day 9 of 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting

Pray for Unity in Executing God's Vision

▪ Pray that the LORD will unify us in mind, purpose, and love, rendering it impossible for the enemy to gain any advantage over us as we carry out God's instructions and assignments.

▪ Pray that the Spirit of God will raise and send laborers for the work He has called us to do. In every city and town we find ourselves this year, pray for a substantial recruitment of willing, teachable, and humble laborers to join in the work.

"All the skilled women spun with their hands, and brought what they had spun, in blue and purple and scarlet material and in fine linen" (Exodus 35:25).

"Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose" (Philippians 2:2).

"The Lord said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them" (Genesis 11:6).

"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!  It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments.  It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessing—life forevermore" (Psalm 133).
