A LIFE OF LOVE AND SACRIFICE

3/15/2026

“And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and has given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.” — Ephesians 5:2

The Christian life is a call to walk in love. This is not merely a feeling or emotion; it is a lifestyle modeled after the love of Christ. Jesus demonstrated the greatest expression of love when He gave Himself as a sacrifice for us. His love was selfless, intentional, and obedient to the will of the Father.

When Paul tells us to walk in love, he is calling us to live daily with the same spirit of sacrifice and compassion that Christ displayed. Love means choosing kindness over bitterness, forgiveness over offense, and service over selfishness. It means putting the needs of others before our own and reflecting God’s heart in our actions.

Christ’s sacrifice was described as a “sweet-smelling aroma” to God, meaning it was pleasing and acceptable to Him. In the same way, when we live lives marked by love, our actions become pleasing offerings to God.

Every act of patience, generosity, forgiveness, and service becomes an expression of Christ’s love working through us. The world may not always notice, but God sees it, and it honors Him.

Today, choose to walk in love. Let Christ’s example guide your words, your actions, and your attitude toward others.

Faith-Filled Confession:

I walk in love just as Christ loved me. My life reflects kindness, sacrifice, and compassion. Through my actions, the love of Christ is revealed, and my life is a pleasing offering to God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
