"This will be the third time I am coming to you. "By the mouth of two or three witnesses, every word shall be established" (2 Corinthians 13:2).
Your future is in your mouth. There is no simpler way to say this, but the Christian is limitless. The shortcomings he or she might face are products of the lips because the enemy has no power. His power to wreak havoc in the lives of Christians comes from tricking them into saying the wrong things. He knows that if he can get Christians to believe wrongly, he can get them to speak wrongly and produce death, sickness, and defeat.
In today's theme scripture, the Bible says that "...By the mouth of two or three witnesses, every word shall be established" (2 Corinthians 13:2). However, I will share five witnesses as to why the tongue is a hallowed member of the Christian.
In Proverbs 13:2, the Bible says, "A man shall eat well by the fruit of his mouth, but the soul of the unfaithful feeds on violence." See, what the Bible does not expressly say but says, all the same, is that the unfaithful feed on hustling but the faithful feed by speaking faith proclamations.
The second witness comes from Proverbs 18:21, which says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit." In other words, death and life are products of the tongue, and the choice is up to you which product you choose. In another portion of scripture, God says, "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live" ( Deuteronomy 30:19). Life and death are choices that should never be left to chance.
The third witness bothers on the same principle. Matthew 12:37 says, "For by your words you will be justified, and by your words, you will be condemned." In essence, if the Lord says you are rich, and you say it too, then you are justified. Justification means to be made right in the eyes of others. This is the same idea that Paul communicates when he writes, "Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all" (1 Timothy 4:15).
Four. Mark 11:23 says, "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says." Notice the Lord's usage of the word, "assuredly." You shall have whatever you say, which is why you must be cautious about what you say.
Lastly, Romans 10:9-10 says, "...that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation." This is a sovereign guarantee from the Lord that if we say His words in consonance with Him, we will experience what He has said in His Word.
Saints, the Word of God on your lips is the armor of God deployed to facilitate and defend your destiny. If you speak it, it will come to pass, so keep speaking out the impression that the Lord has put in your heart.
Faith-filled Confession
I am a speaker of God's Word. God's Word on my lips is my necessary meat, providing me with everything and experience that require for life and godliness. Hallelujah!
ONE-YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN: Psalm 59-61; Acts 28:16-31
PRAYER POINT
2 Thessalonians 3:1-2, "Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith."
Pray for pastors and ministers of the gospel in this nation; declare that they are daily protected from evil and danger, kept from wicked and unreasonable men at all times. Pray especially for God's grace and peace to abound in their homes and families, and they may attend unto the Lord without distractions.
Pray also for the expansion of the work of the ministry which the Lord has committed to their trust, that by His wisdom, they make more and more impact with the gospel in this nation.
