THE PRAYER THAT MOVES THE SPIRIT REALM
"So he [Saul], trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do” (Acts 9:6).
You have probably heard this cliche, "the spiritual controls the physical." It is true. The Bible says "By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible" (Hebrews 11:3).
There is a supersession of the spiritual over physical beings in all ramifications. As a matter of fact, physical beings, good or evil, draw their purposefulness in this world from spiritual beings. It amounts to foolishness when people, Christians, try to achieve certain things without first understanding that they must defer to the Holy Spirit.
David exemplified this attribute a lot in his time. One time, David and his men had been raided by a band of Amalekites. Their wives and children had been kidnapped, their livestock plundered. Still the Bible says, "So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”
You might think his next move was obvious but David understood the importance of first deferring to the Spirit of God for counsel. If you are going to move the spirit realm to your advantage, deferring to the Holy Spirit first must be your attitude of mind.
You exist because of God and not the other way around. Therefore, much of the content of your prayers must follow the example in today's theme scripture. "What would you have me do you, Lord?" "How should I go about this matter?" "When would you have me do this or that?"
Your attitude to God's Spirit should always be one of deference because His agenda for you is so much greater and curated to produce glory. Doing things without first consulting the Lord by exercising deference to Him in your daily decisions can set you up for failure. If you have been prone to doing this, repent. Don't live based on common sense. Even if certain things may seem obvious, ask the Lord for His agenda in the matter.
Be smart. It is better to flow with the tide than to swim against it, even if you are well-intentioned.
Have a blessed day.
Faith-Filled Confession
I live in constant deference to the Holy Spirit, particularly in making decisions. His agenda is my agenda. And as I ask, I know with clarity what to do next at all times. I am synchronized with the Holy Spirit such that the results of my life are the predetermined results that have come from the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name.Amen
